Frazier Rehab Hosts Fall Festival and Annual Larosa Loop Event
Time: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Frazier Rehab Institute, part of KentuckyOne Health, will host its first fall festival complete with family activities, food, games, raffles and booth for sponsors and vendors on Saturday, October 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The day’s activities will also include the Larosa Loop, an annual non-competitive fundraising event that supports pediatric care for children coping with disabling illnesses and injuries. All activities will take place at Frazier Rehab, 220 Abraham Flexner Way.
This year’s Larosa Loop will support the purchase of overhead lifts for the eighth floor therapy gym and Tilt In Space wheelchairs at Frazier Rehab, where many pediatric patients are treated. Frazier Rehab provides approximately 100 children with inpatient services and 470 children with outpatient care each year.
Larosa Loop participants can walk, run or wheel the Mayor’s Mile around Jewish Hospital’s downtown campus. Registration is $15 per person. Lunch and t-shirts may be purchases separately. Other donations are accepted and all contributions are tax deductible as permitted by law.
The Larosa Loop honors the memory of Dr. Ethel Larosa-Klemens, a pediatric physical medicine and rehabilitation physician who passed away on October 26, 2006 after a 15-month battle with cancer. She was a member of the American Medical Society, Kentucky Medical Society, Greater Louisville Medical Society, Executive Committee of Southern Indiana Rehab Hospital, Adopt-a-Student Pilot Program, American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Medical Advisory Committee at the Commission for Children with Special Health Care Needs and Filipino-American Society.
