Lexington, Ky.—For 24 years, the annual Evening with the STARS Gala, hosted by the Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation, has honored the service of area physicians and community leaders. This year’s event is planned for Saturday, November 10, 2012 at the Marriott Griffin Gate, 1800 Newtown Pike in Lexington.
STARS stands for Saint Joseph Associates for Renowned Service. The 2012 STARS Gala will recognize some of the area’s most innovative and caring doctors and community leaders including:
• Robert M. Hewett, Chairman of the KentuckyOne Health Board of Directors. Mr. Hewett is a former executive with Kentucky Utilities and Fifth Third Bank in Lexington.
• Mitchael Estridge, M.D., 2011 Nurses’ Choice Award Winner at Saint Joseph Hospital
• Ketan Merchant, D.O., 2011 Nurses’ Choice Award Winner at Saint Joseph East
The black-tie event will include cocktails and silent auction beginning at 6:30 p.m., then dinner and an awards ceremony at 8 p.m. Proceeds support the Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation, a part of KentuckyOne Health. The Foundation invests in outstanding patient care facilities and services, the education of health caregivers, advanced clinical research and improved access to quality medical care.
