KENTUCKYONE HEALTH NEWEST SPONSOR OF THUNDER OVER LOUISVILLE
Dec. 10, 2012. Louisville, KY. –KentuckyOne Health, the state’s largest healthcare provider, is the newest corporate sponsor of the 2013 Thunder Over Louisville show, the Kentucky Derby Festival’s Opening Ceremonies. The addition of KentuckyOne Health to the Thunder sponsorship lineup was announced today at a press conference at the Derby Festival office. Thunder Over Louisville, which features a world-renowned air show and fireworks spectacle, will be held next year on Saturday, April 20.

KentuckyOne Health was formed when two major Kentucky health care organizations came together in early 2012. KentuckyOne Health combines the Jewish and Catholic heritages of the two former systems – Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare and Saint Joseph Health System. In late 2012, the organization formed a partnership with the University Medical Center. The nonprofit system is committed to improving the health of Kentuckians by integrating medical research, education, technology and health care services wherever patients receive care. KentuckyOne Health has more than 200 locations including hospitals, physician groups, clinics, primary care centers, specialty institutes and home health agencies, with more than 16,000 employees across the state of Kentucky and southern Indiana. Thunder Over Louisville - the Derby Festival's Opening Ceremonies - is one of nearly 70 events produced by the Derby Festival in the spring. The 2013 Thunder Over Louisville is set for Saturday, April 20, and will be the 24th annual production. Since 1956, the Derby Festival has worked to bring the community together in celebration. The Festival is an independent community organization supported by 4,000 volunteers, 375 businesses and civic groups, Pegasus Pin sponsorships and event participation. This involvement has made the Festival the largest single-attended event in Kentucky and one of the leading community celebrations in the world.
