Louisville, Ky.—Just in time for Mother’s Day, the teams from Jewish Hospital, University of Louisville Hospital and Kosair Children’s Hospital have worked together to save the lives of both mother and baby.

Nearly two weeks ago, a pregnant female patient was admitted to Jewish Hospital in need a repair of the aortic dissection, caused by a condition that was threatening her life. Together, the three medical teams arranged to care for both mother and baby by performing a c-section to deliver the baby, followed by lifesaving surgery on the mother.

Now, mom and baby are doing great, thanks to the advanced medical care available right here in Louisville and the combined efforts of these three teams. Now three generations—the grandmother, her daughter and her new granddaughter will get the chance to celebrate Mother’s Day together.
