Saint Joseph Berea Physical Therapist Receives Special Certification
Berea, Ky. (June 12, 2013) – Daniel Sutton, a physical therapist at Saint Joseph Berea, part of KentuckyOne Health, recently completed training with the McKenzie Institute International and received certification in mechanical diagnosis and therapy. Sutton is one of few physical therapists in the area to offer this new treatment program for patients as a certified therapist.
The McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy is one of the most effective and widely used treatment programs in the world for treatment of neck, back and extremity programs. The method is a non-invasive and very effective treatment protocol that promotes patient involvement and progress to independent management of their mechanical problems.
McKenzie trained therapists use an evidence-based approach to examination and diagnosis to formulate a treatment approach for each patient. Many patients treated with this method recover and return to normal daily life quickly, often without the need for medication, injections and other treatments, even surgery.
“Daniel’s extensive training, hard-work and dedication to physical therapy will help us provide a new and special treatment to our patients,” said Lorah Shackelford, rehab manager, Saint Joseph Berea. “We congratulate him on completing this specialized program.”
