Flaget Memorial Hospital Opens SCN Office Building
Bardstown, Ky. (August 28, 2013) – Flaget Memorial Hospital, part of KentuckyOne Health, has completed construction of a new medical office building that includes multiple tenants and a conference room for meeting space. Located at 4371 New Shepherdsville Road in Bardstown, the property is officially named the SCN Office Building in honor of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth who founded the hospital in 1951.
The $7.1 million SCN Medical Office Building is a two-story structure with approximately 32,000 square feet.
The first floor is home to Frazier Rehab Institute, also part of KentuckyOne Health, which opened July 29, 2013 and will provide Nelson County and surrounding communities with nationally recognized care in outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapies.
The facility will include a large gym, plus private treatment rooms equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. Therapists at the facility will treat adult, geriatric and adolescent patients with a number of diagnoses including orthopedic and sports injuries, total joint replacements, work-related injuries, neurological disorders, stroke, complex medical problems, amputations, oncology rehab and communication and swallowing disorders.
Frazier Rehab Institute, a comprehensive rehabilitation system, has earned national recognition for its rehab programs, highly skilled therapists, state-of-the-art-facilities and innovative therapeutic techniques.
The second floor is home to KentuckyOne Primary Care, physician offices for Deborah A Ballard, M.D. and Paula Johnson, M.D., and a conference area.
The remaining space in the building will be used for future expansion.
The SCN Office Building is connected to the hospital’s surgery discharge door via a covered walkway. It also features a canopied area for patient drop-off or pick-up.
An open house for the community is planned for September 13, 2013 at 2 p.m.
“We continue to grow and expand to meet the increasing need for medical care in our community,” said Sue Downs, president, Flaget Memorial Hospital. “Creating more space for physicians will help us attract more caregivers and improve access to medical care for Nelson and the surrounding counties.”
