Children with emotional and developmental disorders will receive a surprise donation of over 200 new pairs of tennis shoes all thanks to one local eight-year-old’s birthday wish.
For St. Patrick Elementary student, Carleigh Hoeflich’s eighth birthday, the only thing she wanted was to do something nice for children receiving help at Our Lady of Peace.  Tennis shoes just happen to be one of the most needed kids item for donation, so over the summer Carleigh took it upon herself to make a difference for children her age.
The Our Lady of Peace nurses and staff will hold a “thank you” and birthday reception for Carleigh Thursday at Our Lady of Peace.  All donated tennis shoes will be on display in the facility’s Lourdes Conference Room.
