Flu Shot Clinics
Shoo the Flu! Get Vaccinated.
Flu Season is Underway
Shoo the Flu! VNA Nazareth offers flu shots Most of us know how miserable flu can be – fever, chills, headache, cough, sore throat, sneezing, muscle aches and stuffy nose. So, how can you avoid coming down with these symptoms? According to the CDC, the single best way to prevent the flu is to get vaccinated.
Each year, VNA Nazareth Home Care promotes flu prevention by offering the convenience of flu clinics throughout the greater Louisville and southern Indiana communities for anyone 18-years-of-age and older. At these clinics, highly trained nurses administer the flu vaccine to the public and can address any issues or concerns you may have about the flu.
The flu vaccine changes annually, based on the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO). This year the vaccine contains the top three strands including the H1N1 (Swine Flu) that was available separately last year. Cost of the flu shot is $25. (Pneumonia shots are also available for those at high risk for $40.)
In addition to the flu shot, you should practice good health habits, such as frequently washing your hands, covering your mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing and avoiding contact with other people when you or they are sick.
