Kidney Transplant

Jewish Hospital has been ranked no. 1 in Louisville in U.S. News & World Report's first-ever Best Hospitals metro area rankings.

The Transplant Center at Jewish Hospital realizes that patient care begins before you ever walk in our doors and continues past the time you are discharged. Thanks to a multi-disciplinary team, each patient is guaranteed the highest standard of care to meet individual needs.

The Transplant Center at Jewish Hospital is a collaborative program with the University of Louisville School of Medicine in five solid organ transplants—heart, lung, liver, kidney and pancreas. Jewish Hospital was the 12th hospital in the United States to be awarded federal Medicare designation for these five organs and has provided more than 1,400 kidney transplants.

In addition, Jewish Hospital performed Kentucky's first non-related donor transplant in December 1994.

Jewish also offers a transplant pharmacy to all past and current transplant recipients. For more information concerning the pharmacy or to contact the Transplant Center, call 1- and follow the organ-specific telephone prompts.
