Biographies

Timothy Ford, D.P.M., ABPS, ABPOPPM is the Director of Residency Training with the Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare Podiatry Residency Program and was the Founder of The Kentucky Podiatric Residency Program, established in 1998. He is also a practicing podiatric physician and owner of Foot Doctors, P.S.C. and holds University Appointments at the University of Louisville within the Department of Orthopaedics and the Department of Family and Community Medicine. He is the current Chief of Podiatry at the University of Louisville.

Dr. Ford completed his Bachelor of Arts degree at Temple University and Cleveland State University and his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (D.P.M.) at Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, located in Cleveland. He served his two-year Podiatric Medicine & Surgery Residency at The James C. Guiffre’ Medical Center, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Ford is a Fellow with the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons as well as the American College of Foot and Ankle Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine.

Dr. Ford is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery (Diplomat) and the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics & Primary Podiatric Medicine (Diplomat). Dr. Ford serves on the Council on Podiatric Medical Education, is the current Chairman of the Joint Residency Review Committee and past President of the Kentucky Podiatric Medical Association. In 2007, he was recognized as the Kentucky Podiatrist of the Year.

Dr. Ford is a member of many medical professional societies, including the American Podiatric Medical Association, the Kentucky Podiatric Medical Association, the American College of Foot Surgeons and the American College of Foot & Ankle Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine.

Heiko Bernhardt Adams, D.P.M., FACFAS is a member of the at-large faculty and Research Director with the Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare Podiatry Residency Program. He is also a practicing physician and owner of First Choice Ankle & Foot Care Center, P.L.L.C.

Dr. Adams attended Ashland Community College and was a Combat Engineer in the United States Army before completing his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Chemistry at Morehead State University and his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (D.P.M.) at Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, located in Cleveland. He completed a Rotating Podiatric Residency Program and a two-year Podiatric Surgical Residency Program with Forum Health, Western Reserve Care System, located in Youngstown, Ohio.

Dr. Adams is Board Certified in Foot Surgery and Board Qualified in Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.

Dr. Adams is a member of many medical professional societies, including the American Podiatric Medical Association, the Ohio Podiatric Medical Association and the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.

Luke Kovatch, D.P.M., is the podiatry student Externship Director for the Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare Podiatric Residency program and an Attending Physician with the Residency Program.  He is also a practicing podiatric physician and owner of Kovatch Foot & Ankle Specialists, PLLC.

Dr. Kovatch is a Louisville native and a graduate of Saint Xavier High School.  He completed his Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees at the University of Notre Dame and his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (D.P.M.) at Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in North Chicago, IL.  Dr. Kovatch completed a three-year Podiatric Medicine & Surgery Residency at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in downtown Chicago.  He also completed a one-year Fellowship in Reconstructive Foot Surgery and Diabetic Limb Preservation at Jewish Hospital and the University of Louisville Hospital.

Dr. Kovatch is Board Qualified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery in Foot Surgery and Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery.   Dr. Kovatch is also a Young Physician Liaison to the Board of the American Podiatric Medical Association.  He is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, the Kentucky Podiatric Medical Association, the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care, and Health Volunteers Overseas.

William R. Brown, D.P.M. is a member of the at-large faculty with the Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare Podiatry Residency Program. He is also a practicing physician and part-owner of Podiatric Physicians of Kentucky.

Dr. Brown earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Grove City College, located in Grove City, Pennsylvania and his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (D.P.M.) at Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, located in Cleveland. He completed a Podiatric Surgical Residency Program at Richmond Heights General Hospital in Richmond Heights, Ohio and at Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Hayward, California, where he was Chief Resident.

Dr. Brown is Board Qualified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and is a member of many medical professional societies, including the American Podiatric Medical Association, the Kentucky Podiatric Medical Association, the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and is a member of the National Eagle Scout Association.
