Louisville, Ky.—The Children’s Peace Center at Our Lady of Peace, part of KentuckyOne Health, will host Peace for Parents, a series of free seminars to help guide parents with school-age children through topics that while common can be tricky to navigate. This is the second year for the program.

The seminar series will go out on the road this year in order to make attendance more convenient for parents. Each seminar will be held at a Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare Medical Center location in the community.

Peace for Parents will kick off the year on Tuesday, March 27 at Jewish Hospital Medical Center Northeast with a seminar on Medication and Kids hosted by John P. Sullivan, M.D., from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The program will include an interactive discussion about medications commonly prescribed for children and adolescent behavior and emotional problems.  There will be a question and answer period for “ask the doctor” dialogue.

Interested individuals are encouraged to register in advance.  Registration is free and can be done by calling (502) 479-4495. Jewish Hospital Medical Center Northeast is located at 2401 Terra Crossing Blvd., just off the Gene Snyder Freeway at Old Henry Road.

“Parents face a variety of challenges throughout the life of their child, and societal pressures are greater than ever before,” said Jennifer Nolan, president and CEO, Our Lady of Peace. “We hope the Peace for Parents series will help educate parents and guide them through some common challenges.  The program was so well received last year, we knew it was a valuable service that we should continue to provide for our community.”
