Losing Sleep?
Let Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare Get You Back to a Good Night’s Rest
Are you or a loved one losing sleep? If so, let Jewish Sleep Care help. Offering sleep studies to diagnose sleep apnea and other sleep conditions, our Sleep Centers are ready to help you become well rested again.
To determine the root of your sleep problems a sleep study, or polysomnogram, which is an electro-physiologic procedure that records a variety of bodily functions during sleep, may be performed. This study records electrical activity of the brain, eye movement, muscle activity, heart rate, breathing and blood oxygen levels. The study is then read by certified sleep doctors.
If you think you might have sleep apnea or another sleep condition, consult with your physician. Sleep apnea is a potentially serious condition that could lead to many types of life threatening health issues, including high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, heart attack, stroke and even death. Common symptoms of sleep apnea include snoring, restlessness, choking or sweating during sleep. Morning headaches or daytime fatigue are also possible symptoms.
