Jewish Hospital Shelbyville (JHS), located on the Colonel Harland D. Sanders Medical Campus, is a vital community resource to residents of Shelby, Henry and Spencer counties. Located just 30 minutes east of downtown Louisville, the 70-bed community hospital is a wholly-owned entity of Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare (JHSMH). The Shelbyville hospital, founded in 1906 by the King’s Daughters & Sons Organization was purchased in 1992 by Jewish Hospital and provides a full range of comprehensive services including:

In 2009, the hospital completed a $2 million dollar expansion of its Emergency Department, doubling the size of the space to accommodate growing community need. Thanks to the generosity of the Canadian Harland D. Sanders Foundation & Charitable Trust and local community donors, the hospital now boasts a modern Emergency Department, including 13 private treatment rooms, a state-of-the art trauma room, bedside registration and other new equipment. In addition, the hospital’s focus on advanced care has resulted in Shelbyville having the largest percentage of Emergency Certified Nurses in the JHSMH organization.
To support emergency and other medical care, the JHSMH organization has made a significant investment in Medical Imaging services at JHS, offering MRI, CT, PET/CT, Neuro-radiology, Musculoskeletal/Orthopedic Radiology, Nuclear Medicine/Cardiac Imaging, Ultrasound, Digital Mammography, and Dexa Bone Density Screening. Board certified radiologists, with multiple specialties, are onsite to provide quick results.
