Jewish Hospital Medical Center East Named Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by American College of Radiology
Louisville, Ky. —Jewish Hospital Medical Center East (JHMCE), a part of KentuckyOne Health, has earned accreditation as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence from The American College of Radiology (ACR). The honor recognizes breast imaging centers that have earned accreditation in all of the College’s voluntary, breast-imaging accreditation programs and modules, in addition to the mandatory Mammography Accreditation Program.
The designation is recognized as the gold standard for excellence in breast imaging by third party payers as well as the general population. By attaining this designation, JHMCE can confidently advertise that it meets or exceeds the standards for safety, quality, excellence, and equipment.
The breast imaging services at JHMCE are fully accredited in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound and ultrasound-guided breast biopsy.Peer-review evaluations, conducted in each breast imaging modality by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field, determined that the facility has achieved high practice standards in image quality, personnel qualifications, facility equipment, quality control procedures, and quality assurance programs.
JHMCE is also accredited in Breast MRI by the American College of Radiology.

The ACR, headquartered in Reston, Va., is a national organization serving more than 32,000 diagnostic/interventional radiologists, radiation oncologists, nuclear medicine physicians, and medical physicists with programs focusing on the practice of medical imaging and radiation oncology, as well as the delivery of comprehensive healthcare services.
