The Kosair Charities Children’s Peace Center at Our Lady of Peace, part of KentuckyOne Health, will host Peace for Parents – Oldham County, a series of free seminars to help guide parents, counselors, and teachers, with school-age children through topics that while common can be tricky to navigate.  Each seminar will include a question and answer period for )ask the professional” dialogue.

WHAT:  Peace for Parents – Oldham County

WHEN:  Tuesday, December 4, 6-7 p.m.
Designer Drugs: An overview of popular drugs, including “legal drugs,” how teens gain access to them, and how to address the issue.
  
Tuesday, December 11, 6-7 p.m.
Signs and Symptoms of Substance Use: A seminar to understand the difference between substance use, abuse and dependence and how it affects a family. Discussion will also include behavior changes, relationship problems and mood swings – all signs and systems of substance use and/or mental health problems.  

Tuesday, December 18, 6-7 p.m.
Drug Use and The Brain: A discussion on how drugs and alcohol use effects an adolescent’s developing brain. Also learn how the brain heals when teens stop using drugs and alchol.
