Research and Evidence Based Practice Council
The Research and Evidence Based Practice Council at KentuckyOne Health Louisville-Area facilities is grounded in the belief that research is an integral component of professional nursing practice. A number of mechanisms have been established to support nurses in their involvement in evidence-based practice and research, and focuses on bringing this research to the patient bedside.
The Research and Evidence Based Practice Council encourages participation from nurses at all levels throughout the organization and collaborates with community and academic partners to promote its mission. The council has adopted the Iowa Model of Evidence-Based Practice as the framework for its functions and has financial support available through the Coleman Fund for Nursing Research, a part of the Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s Foundation.
The Research and Evidence Based Practice Council participates in the Annual Nursing Research Louisville Symposium, providing staff opportunities to submit abstracts, present posters and disseminate their project findings to nurses throughout the region.
