Pediatric Rehab Program

The Frazier Rehab Institute Pediatric Rehab Program is a comprehensive rehabilitation program that provides a wide range of services to children and adolescents, birth to age 21, who have developmental delays, sensory integration issues, neurological diagnoses such as spinal cord injuries and brain injuries, orthopedic trauma incidents and other childhood complications.

All services are available to children needing outpatient therapy or an inpatient rehabilitation hospital stay. Multidisciplinary therapies include occupational, physical and speech therapies, plus psychology and neuropsychology services. Therapies create a safe and fun way for children to improve in all developmental areas including physical, cognitive and social.

Innovative Services and Programs

Frazier’s Pediatric Rehab Program offers a full complement of inpatient and outpatient rehab services and programs, including:

  • Comprehensive, team-oriented approach to help children and adolescents return to the community with the skills to live as independently as possible
  • Treatment involving the whole family and ongoing teaching sessions for family members and friends
  • Emphasis on school re-integration, beginning early in rehab and continuing through discharge
  • Collaboration with the many private and public schools to ensure that children stay involved with their peers and keep up with class work (both local and regional in scope)
  • Coordination of evaluation and treatment services through First Steps of Kentucky and Indiana. First Steps is an early intervention program for children from birth to age three, who have a developmental delay or a medical condition known to cause developmental delays.
  • Pediatric psychology services as needed, plus neuropsychology evaluations as referred by a physician
  • Speech therapy services, including pediatric video swallow evaluations and feeding groups
  • Access to a therapy pool if referred by a physician for physical therapy treatment
