Frazier’s pediatric therapy is provided on the Kosair Charities Pediatric Pavilion. This unit provides a safe and fun way for children to interact with therapists, while enhancing their physical, cognitive and social skills. It is the centerpiece of Frazier Rehab Institute’s advanced pediatric rehabilitation program, offering services not available elsewhere in the region.

Program Goals and Benefits

  • Comprehensive, team-oriented approach to help children and adolescents up to ages zero to 21 return to the community with the skills to live as independently as possible
  • Emphasis on staying involved with school
  • Treatment involving the whole family and ongoing teaching sessions for family members and friends
  • Help patients return to age appropriate play, social and living skills

Features

In addition to a full range of inpatient and outpatient services and innovative programs, Frazier Rehab Institute offers:

  • Emphasis on school re-integration, beginning early in rehab and continuing through discharge
  • Collaboration with Jefferson County Public Schools ensures that children stay involved with their peers and keep up with class work
  • First Steps of Kentucky and Indiana is an early intervention program for children from birth to age 3 who have a developmental delay or a medical condition known to cause developmental delay. Frazier coordinates evaluation and treatment services through each state’s Cabinet for Health Services
  • Pediatric nurse coordinator collaborates with family, treatment team and physicians to provide family-centered care
  • Sensory Integration equipment and program
  • Snoozelen Room

  • Physical connection via a pedway to Kosair Children’s Hospital
  • Access to the Ronald McDonald House, located one block west of Frazier’s Medical Campus
  • Pediatric psychiatric services through the Bingham Child Guidance Center
